Anatolia Fest Turkish Culture, Art and Taste Festival at Sankofa Square in Toronto on September 20, 2026

Anatolia Fest returns to Sankofa Square in downtown Toronto on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for a free celebration of Turkish food, culture, art and community. The family-friendly festival will run from noon to 8:00 p.m. and bring Turkish flavours, music, crafts and literature into the heart of the city.

This will be the festival's long-awaited third edition. After events in 2016 and 2017, organizers say Anatolia Fest is returning as a cultural reunion that connects Toronto communities with the colours, stories and traditions of Türkiye.

Turkish food and flavours at Anatolia Fest

Food will be an important part of the festival experience. The official program highlights Turkish cuisine, Turkish coffee and baklava, giving visitors an opportunity to explore familiar favourites and discover more of Türkiye's regional food traditions.

Halal food note: The official event pages promote Turkish cuisine but do not state that every participating food vendor will be halal. Visitors who require halal food should confirm meat sourcing, preparation practices and possible shared cooking equipment directly with each vendor before ordering.

Music, traditional arts and a Turkish book fair

Anatolia Fest extends beyond food. Its cultural program is designed to introduce visitors to traditions from across Türkiye through performances, creative activities and community experiences.

  • Live music and Turkish cultural performances
  • Traditional arts, crafts and regional art forms
  • Hands-on activities for visitors and families
  • A Turkish book fair
  • Turkish coffee, baklava and other culinary experiences

The free event is sponsored by Turkish Airlines and GoTürkiye and is hosted by Kutuphane, a Canadian organization focused on Turkish books, culture and community programming.

Why it matters to Toronto food lovers

Cultural festivals give Toronto diners an opportunity to learn how food connects with heritage, hospitality and community. Anatolia Fest can also help visitors discover Turkish food businesses and vendors they may want to visit again after the festival.

For more food options before or after the event, visitors can explore THF's Canadian halal restaurant directory. Halal status should always be checked with each business, particularly at temporary festival stalls.

Current event details are available from the official Anatolia Fest website and the Sankofa Square event calendar.
