Food World Plus Opens October 30 in Mississauga With Halal Meat and Global Groceries

Food World Plus has announced its official opening for Friday, October 30, 2026, at 50 Matheson Blvd E in Mississauga. The approximately 176,000-square-foot destination brings international groceries, places to eat and a dedicated halal meat section to the former Highland Farms site.

For shoppers who like to turn a grocery run into a food outing, there will be plenty to explore. The opening announcement promotes restaurants, a café, sushi, juice, coffee, dessert bars, a bakery, flowers and catering alongside everyday groceries.

More than a grocery stop

The store is built around a mix of global ingredients and food counters. Shoppers can browse pantry staples from different regions, pick up fresh produce and seafood, and explore bakery and prepared-food options under one roof. The business also advertises wholesale and bulk orders for larger shopping needs.

A dedicated halal section

Food World Plus says its supermarket includes a separate halal food section. Its halal department page describes a butcher counter offering beef, lamb, goat and chicken, alongside halal packaged foods and prepared meals. Earlier store plans also advertised kosher butcher options.

Halal shoppers can use the labelled section and speak with the counter team about certification, individual products and preparation practices.
