Taste of Mississauga 2026: September Event at MNN Cancelled

Update — September 6, 2026: The September 5–6 festival at Muslim Neighbour Nexus was cancelled. A replacement date and venue have not been confirmed in the announcements we reviewed.

Taste of Mississauga Summer Festival 2026 did not go ahead as advertised at Muslim Neighbour Nexus (MNN), 3520 Odyssey Drive, opposite Ridgeway Plaza. The Eventbrite listing now marks the event as cancelled.

What the organizers announced

In their latest event update, the organizers said the festival would not proceed at the Ridgeway Plaza area location on September 5 and 6, 2026, and that a new date and venue would be announced. This means the advertised MNN event was cancelled, while any future edition remains subject to a further announcement.

City approvals and safety concerns

The organizers had previously moved the festival from August 22–23 to September 5–6 after reporting delays with City of Mississauga approvals. Their earlier vendor update referred to additional procedures and public-event requirements following large gatherings on August 14.

Dreammedia Agency said safety and security concerns raised by the City and Peel Regional Police about the nearby plaza area prevented the event from proceeding at this location. The organizers said the safety of families, children, visitors, vendors, volunteers, staff and the wider community had to come first. They thanked vendors, sponsors and attendees for their patience and support.

Disappointment for visitors who made the trip

The change left some visitors disappointed. A reader contacted The Halal Food to report that their party travelled to MNN on September 6, after planning their outing and paying for an Uber, only to find that no festival was taking place.

Vendor feedback and organizer contact

In a comment beneath the announcement, one vendor thanked the team for helping arrange a timely stall refund and suggested holding future events indoors to reduce uncertainty around weather and other disruptions.
